What makes Kai Beach so special is its rooftop café area, where the sea breeze mixes with the aroma of freshly brewed drinks. Sitting there with a sweetened matcha latte in hand, I feel a sense of calm that is hard to find elsewhere.

The vibe is stylish yet peaceful, perfect for anyone who wants to escape the noise and simply enjoy the beauty of Weligama Bay.

The menu is equally impressive, offering a mix of sushi, cocktails, desserts, and refreshing beverages. Whether you’re a foodie, a traveler, or someone who just wants to sip coffee while watching the sunset, Kai Beach has something for you.

Getting there is easy:

  • From Colombo, it’s about a 3-hour drive via the Southern Expressway.

  • The Weligama Railway Station is nearby, and a short tuk-tuk ride will take you straight to Kai Beach.


Kai Beach is more than a destination it’s a feeling. The rooftop café, the calm vibe, and the welcoming atmosphere make it a must-visit spot in Weligama. My 21'st birthday was one of the most meaningful and happiest days of my life. I celebrated my birthday on 24th of April, and I spent the day feeling excited, loved, and thankful for everything around me.  From the morning itself, the day felt special because I received many warm wishes from my family, friends, and loved ones. Their kind words made my heart full and set a beautiful mood for the entire day. One of the loveliest parts of my birthday was receiving a bunch of flowers, surprises, and thoughtful gifts. Each surprise made me smile and feel truly appreciated.
